Kartika or Damodara month is glorified in the scriptures as the best of all the months. It is the most distinguished and meritorious of all months. During this period, devotees offer lamps to Sri Krishna and glorify Him by remembering His pastime of being bound with ropes by mother Yashoda.

To commemorate this auspicious month, we will decorate the ISKCON Bangalore temple with one lakh lamps (diyas). We request your contributions to this wonderful service opportunity to spread auspiciousness and joy.

Kartika month is so potent that if anyone offers a lamp in the temple of Lord Krishna, whatever sins acquired in many thousands and millions of births perish in half an eye-blink. Lord Krishna is very pleased when one offers a lamp during this month. By offering a lamp with devotion, people achieve pious results ten million times greater than the result obtained by bathing at Kurukshetra during a solar eclipse or in the river Narmada during a lunar eclipse.
